== Why Stratford Hall matters ==

The site’s history also depends on the story of people held in slavery. Stratford Hall’s interpretation draws on archaeological finds, archival research, and oral history to explore the lives and communities of enslaved Africans and African Americans who lived and worked there.<ref>{{Cite web
